CrossFit Kids

CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning certified program that uses a variety of movements to develop and increase flexibility, strength, agility and balance in children.  At RCC we believe that by laying a solid foundation of fitness ideals from an early age we can reduce the risk of disease, injury and help build a better future for our young ones.  Our CrossFit Kids Program serves children ages 5-7 (Little Athletes) and 8-12 (Young Athletes).  Every session will include a warm-up, focus work on a basic movement and/or gymnastics skills, a workout, a game and self-directed reading time.  Classes will be structured to give athletes progressive training in gymnastics and strength training as well as increase in self-esteem and confidence.  Classes will be limited to 8 athletes per class and are taught by certified CrossFit Kids instructors.
Little Athletes: Ages 5-7
This class lays the foundation for all future movements that our young athletes will encounter, whether it be sport-specific or health/fitness related. Athletes learn body awareness, coordination, and the fundamentals of gymnastics and strength training including forward/backward rolls, headstands, squatting, push-ups and sit-ups.  A sense of personal accomplishment is encouraged as well as positive group interaction.
Young Athletes: Ages 8-12

Athletes learn more complex movements in addition to individual skill building.  The class is structured to provide athletes with a continuation of fundamental movements but also introduces more dynamic skills such as handstand forward rolls, different squatting/pressing/deadlifting modalities.  More partner and team building drills are included to create a sense of community.
